What to Expect When Getting Started
It can feel hard taking the step to open up to a new person about your life, emotions, and struggles. I like clients to know what they can expect when beginning therapy with me as it often feels overwhelming. While there can be some anxiety about the process, more often than not there is also a sense of relief. Know that there are no right or wrong feelings to have as you start therapy. Most important is that you are taking time to care for yourself.

In the beginning I like to set up a brief appointment (15-20 mins at no cost) to see if working together is a good fit. This will give you a chance to hear more about how I work, ask questions, and share some of the reasons you are seeking support. I want new clients to feel heard and understood, and I want you to feel positive about starting therapy with me.
It is also a good opportunity to see if our schedules work well together, and to talk about cost/insurance. During this initial appointment, if it seems like a good fit, we will then schedule an intake appointment, and create a schedule for regular sessions.
